'Nature and people in the mountains of Pakistan' — Boyan Petrov's photo exhibition and his debut book 'The first seven'

On 6 February, at 18 hours, at the Great Hall and the lobby of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences there will be presented for the first time the photo exhibition and the book by the zoologist Boyan Petrov.

The focus of the photo exhibition is five eight-thousanders located on the territory of Pakistan which Boyan has climbed so far. The exhibition will open His Excellency A. S. Babar Hashmi, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sofia.

The book of Boyan Petrov 'The First seven' (http://www.vakon-bg.com/parvite-sedem) is dedicated to his expeditions to the highest peaks. Boyan is the only zoologist, who has climbed 8 of the 14 eight-thousanders on the planet. Among them are the most difficult K2 (8611 m), the most complicated to read Kangchenjunga (8586 m), the most deadly Annapurna (8091 m) and the worst and unpredictable Nanga Parbat (8126 m). In all his expeditions Boyan managed to bring zoological and botanical materials, which provide unique opportunities for the study of life in extreme conditions.
