Abstract: Petar Beron is a Bulgarian researcher and politician. As a zoologist he is known with his investigations on the cave and high-altitude fauna of Bulgaria and the World and on taxonomy and faunistics of mites. He was Director of the National Museum of Natural History in Sofia (1993-2005) and Vice-President of the Parliament of Bulgaria (2005-2009).
