Abstract: The list comprises type material of butterflies from the Balkan Peninsula kept at Laboratoire d’Entomologie, Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris. The collection contains types of 26 nominal species group taxa, described primarily by Hans Fruhstorfer, but also by Hans Rebel, Felix Bryk, Curt Eisner, Georges Bernardi. Six taxa belong to the family Papilionidae, one to Pieridae, and 19 to Nymphalidae. For the stability of nomenclature, lectotype has been designated for Euphydryas maturna idunides (Fruhstorfer, 1917).

Keywords: Balkan Peninsula, holotype, lectotype, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, syntype
