Abstract: The wide-spread tiger beetle species Myriochila (Myriochila) melancholica (Fabricius, 1798) (Coleoptera, Cicindelidae) is recorded for the first time for the territory of Bulgaria. It was collected from the Struma River Valley, a dispersal corridor for many Mediterranean and thermophilic species. We also comment on the distribution and ecology of the species.
