Research interests


Botany; ecology and biodiversity of plant communities, phytocoenology; Orchidaceae: taxonomy, distribution, ecology and conservation of wild orchids in Bulgaria.

Scientific projects


2025—2028 — CLIMANATRES Climate-proofing ecological restoration plans in the middle and lower Danube Region.
2022 — Carrying out consultations and direct conservation measures (in situ and ex situ) for 29 plant species, of which 25 have current Action Plans for the period 2014—2023.
2022 — Consultations and assistance for the collection, analysis and interpretation of data on natural habitat types and species for the purposes of the National System for Monitoring the Status of Biological Diversity (NSMSBD) and biodiversity conservation policy.
2022 — Regional information campaign for Natura 2000 sites in the territory of Montana district.
2021—2023 — Development of an action plan for the conservation of the populations of the Lady’s-slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) for the period 2019—2028.
2021—2022 — Development of an action plan for the conservation of the populations of the Kalopissii orchid (Dactylorhiza kalopissii E.Nelson) and the Early marsh—orchid (Dactylorhiza incarnata (L.)Soo).
2019 — Conservation and maintenance of the habitat of the Balkan endemic Kalopissii palm root (Dactylorhiza kalopissii) in the “Sinite kamani” Nature Park.
2016—2017 — For a better understanding of ecosystem services in urban environments through assessment and mapping (TUNESinURB).
2013—2014 — Establishment and management of the “Byala krava” reserve and maintained reserves “Hajdushki Chukar” and “Savchov Chair”.
2012 — Mapping and determining the conservation status of natural habitats and species.
