Expertise and interests: General biology, zoology, general entomology, lepidopterology; interdisciplinary ecological research; scientific illustration; popularization of biological sciences.

Research interests

Taxonomy, ecology, conservation and faunistics of butterflies and skippers (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea) of Bulgaria, the Balkan Peninsula and the western Palaearctic region.

Taxonomy and systematics of Lycaenidae and Nymphalidae, using karyosystematics and statistical morphometrics alongside traditional morphological and anatomical methods.
